EU REACH SVHC (161) Statement
EU regulation (EC) 1907/2006 of 18Dec2006 and per the updates of December 2014 is scoped by this statement. The REACH directive applies to all Tamura Corp of America (TCA) products that bear the ‘CE’ mark, or where the product is shipped with a statement that is specific to the model number.
Per the REACH Directive, TCA is a provider of "articles." All TCA products are assemblies and cannot be considered raw materials. TCA requires reports from component suppliers, and based on the analysis of these reports TCA offers the presumption of conformity such that CE-marked products will conform to the meaning and intent of the directive. CE-marked products will not intentionally release any scoped substances to the environment, and will not expose humans or the environment, during normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use including disposal, of scoped substances.
The products manufactured by TCA do not contain any of the substances at a concentration exceeding 0.1% w/w of the SVHC candidate list (161 substances). TCA products are exempt from REACH pre-registration and any subsequent registration activities. Our exempt status is based on our knowledge of materials used to manufacture our products, the REACH guidance document (echa.europa.eu/web/guest/support/guidance-on-reach-and-implementation), the SVHC lists published prior to January 2015
At Tamura, we have always been dedicated to the environment and social responsibility (Click here for Tamura's Enviromental Report). Becoming RoHS compliant enables Tamura to rotate existing inventory, avoid purging any distributor warehouse stock, thereby protecting the landfills they are trying to save.
